Eyes down for a full house. Welcome to the ChatGPT bingo hall where buzzwords and clichés are the go, and big prizes await the first lucky participant to fill their card. All you’ll need are excellent concentration skills and the ability to discern the real thing from all things Ai-generated. Oh yes, you’ll need the speed and conviction to shout “HOUSE” if you’ve marked off all your numbers too. Don’t be shy now.
But before we begin, here is a disclaimer – this article is written by a human (me). I wrote it. I wrote it without the assistance of ChatGPT. I wrote it about the subject of ChatGPT. Hopefully it will be clear to you dear reader, that a real-life human penned this, because we (I) believe you can tell the difference between the two. And the abundance and overuse of buzzwords are often the clearest giveaway.
Before we start, some house rules as follows:
ChatGPT is an Ai language model developed by OpenAI, which is capable of generating human-like text based on the input it is given. The model is trained on a large corpus of text data and can ultimately (and speedily):
- Generate responses to questions
- Summarise long texts
- Write stories and poems
- Generate images
- Draft content or code for videos and music
- Draft emails
- Solve math problems
- Create titles for articles
- Assist with job searches
- Research markets for products
and much, much more. Each day, more.
GPT stands for Generative Pre-training Transformer. In essence, GPT is a kind of Artificial Intelligence (Ai). When we talk about Ai, we might think of sci-fi movies or robots. But ChatGPT is much more mundane and user-friendly.
Generative conversational Ai like ChatGPT can perform a range of tasks to assist with problem-solving. And in a world beset with problems, this is a good thing, right? Well… hhhhhmmmmm, kinda, yeah, nah. Maybe.

How does ChatGPT wizardry work?
Great question. It works by:
- Using machine learning algorithms to analyse large amounts of data
- Understanding human language as it’s spoken and written
- Generating responses based on patterns and associations in the data it’s been trained on
So, what’s not to love?
Well, there are limitations to what ChatGPT can do. Some of its drawbacks include:
- Accuracy issues
- Biased answers
- Common sense issues
- Ethical concerns
- Incomplete responses
- Lack of creativity and originality
- Limited context understanding
- Multilingual limitations
- A reliance on internet access
- Poor comprehension of niche topics
- Privacy and security
- Generating visual content
- Unemotional responses
- Usage limits
And our favourite limitation of all is:
It is clearly evident that the content has been written by a bot and not a human. How can you tell? Easy…
Right… tickets at the ready? Let the ChatGPT bingo begin

Rise ‘n’ shine number 29
Using em dashes like in this sentence—with no space either side. This isn’t to say that em dashes are incorrect and are always a ChatGPT tell. But when social media captions are now littered with em dashes, despite the everyday user not knowing how to find an em dash on their keyboard… let’s call it a pretty sure giveaway.

Using American English, which is the default of ChatGPT. Analyzing, strategizing, colors, defense, meters.

You’d think that a chatbot that crawls the open web would have developed one hell of a vocabulary by now. But judging by our dataset of 50,000 ChatGPT responses, it has an overwhelming preference for certain words.
Then again, maybe this is a true and accurate reflection of the words humans like to use when writing stuff on the internet? Well, If only ChatGPT would also take into account that variety is the spice of life!
What will ChatGPT be like in 5 years?
While ChatGPT already mimics human conversation impressively, in five years, these interactions will most likely become even more fluid and natural. Advanced models will have the ability to not only understand complex conversations but also detect subtle emotional cues and context more accurately.
So, for now I’ll continue to write my own content thank you very much. I’m a person. A real life person. I can maintain a conversation over time, and I can remember past discussions and build on them in a more meaningful way. I’m genuine, I’m real. I have GI. Genuine intelligence.
“BINGO!!”
