In the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Queensland Government committed to conducting a comprehensive 100-day infrastructure review. This review focused on ensuring that Queensland is delivering the right projects in the right places with the right governance.

In simple terms, it means that there’s about to be a ton of business opportunities, and plenty of them will be for businesses just like yours. If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved in, keep reading… The review assessed the intricate network of critical infrastructure projects required to support the Games, to ensure projects align with long-term planning, fiscal and future legacy objectives. The Government has announced the report will be publicly available on March 25 2025, along with their Games Delivery Plan.

The review prioritised:

  • Key infrastructure
  • Connectivity
  • Integration across venues, transport projects and athlete’s villages.

The review also considered:

  • Deliverability
  • Legacy impact
  • Value for money
  • Alignment with long-term growth strategies
  • Creating lasting economic, social and environmental benefits across the State
  • Enabling the successful delivery of the Games

What does this mean for you?

With billions of dollars in business opportunities up for grabs, now is the time to get ready. The Games will attract a new global business audience to Queensland. The international spotlight is expected to attract a $4.6 billion boost in tourism and trade for Queensland and $8.5 billion nationally. Along with billions of dollars in health and community social improvements, the Games will support over 90,000 full-time job years through to 2042 in Queensland and 122,900 nationally. To support the game-changing benefits driving our fast-growing state, we need the right infrastructure to enable great jobs, better services, and the iconic Queensland lifestyle. That’s where your business comes in. Whether you’re already eyeing opportunities or unsure where to start, the key to winning big is submitting a compelling, well-prepared tender. That’s where we come in. Focused Marketing is always on the podium when it comes to helping businesses like yours secure new opportunities by equipping you with the expertise and strategies needed to submit and win outstanding tenders.

With 30+ years of experience in the tender game, we’ve seen it all.

From submissions that miss the mark to perfectly crafted bids that fail because a crucial detail was left out, there are several key elements to creating a winning tender. The most important? Getting your ducks in a row. That means having robust processes in place to increase your chances of success – a system that ensures all requirements are met, leaving no room for error.

So, what do you need to win a tender? At a minimum you need to:

1. Understand the tender requirements

  • Thoroughly review the tender document
  • Attend tender information sessions
  • Ask for clarification

2. Demonstrate your capabilities and experience

  • Highlight relevant experience
  • Present a strong project plan
  • Showcase your resources and capacity
  • Provide testimonials

3. Offer a compelling value proposition

  • Articulate your unique value proposition
  • Address the client’s specific needs
  • Focus on value for money

4. Price competitively

  • Conduct thorough cost analysis
  • Consider pricing strategies
  • Don’t just focus on the lowest price

5. Adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Address sustainability and ethical practices
  • Be aware of local content requirements

6. Other important considerations

  • Stay organised and concise
  • Be realistic about what you can deliver
  • Avoid last minute submissions
  • Seek feedback and learn from your experiences
  • Stay flexible and responsive
