Challenge

FCAC needed a clear marketing framework and a refreshed website that would address misconceptions and articulate its true points of difference.

Fraser Coast Anglican College (FCAC) is a well-established Prep to Year 12 school with a strong reputation for academic excellence, values-based education and a unique bushland campus in Hervey Bay.

Despite these strengths, FCAC faced persistent misconceptions in the market, including perceptions of elitism, rigidity and cost. Enrolment growth was uneven across year levels, and the existing website, while well maintained, no longer reflected the warmth, inclusivity and contemporary educational experience offered by the College.

FCAC needed a clear marketing framework and a refreshed website that would address misconceptions, articulate its true points of difference and better support enrolments, particularly for families relocating to the region.

Solution

Focused Marketing was engaged to develop a comprehensive Marketing Position Report, grounded in workshops with leadership, staff and students. This work clarified FCAC’s brand personality, audience priorities and key messaging, identifying sincerity, care and community as the emotional drivers behind enrolment decisions.

The strategy directly informed the redevelopment of the FCAC website. We restructured the site to prioritise clarity, storytelling and accessibility, with improved navigation, clearer admissions pathways and content designed to answer the real questions prospective families were asking.

Tone of voice was softened and humanised, balancing academic credibility with warmth and approachability. Messaging addressed common misconceptions head-on, while showcasing the breadth of student experience across academics, arts, sport and wellbeing.

The website design was supported by a refreshed style guide to ensure visual and messaging consistency across digital and print communications, providing FCAC with a strong foundation for future marketing activity.

Results

FCAC now has a modern, welcoming website that reflects the true character of the College and supports its enrolment and brand objectives.

The site provides a clear, engaging introduction for prospective families, particularly those new to the region, and better positions FCAC as inclusive, values-led and community-focused. Combined with the marketing strategy and style guide, the website has become a central tool for building trust, addressing perceptions and supporting sustainable enrolment growth.
